Schools and Counsellors
Helping schools build expertise in UK higher education
Interest in studying in the UK continues to grow among students and families in Brazil. But advising students effectively requires more than knowing a list of well-known universities.
Entry requirements, qualifications, UCAS, pathways, admissions terminology and university expectations can all be very different from other international destinations.
Maze Education works with schools and counselling teams to build the knowledge and confidence they need to advise students considering the UK.

Developing UK expertise within your school
My aim is not to replace the work of school counsellors.
It's to strengthen it.
I provide specialist UK higher education knowledge that complements the expertise already within a school's counselling team, helping counsellors understand the UK system in greater depth and confidently incorporate UK universities into conversations with students and families.
Professional development for counsellors
I design and deliver professional development sessions around the areas of UK higher education that counsellors encounter in their everyday work.
Topics can include:
Understanding the UK university landscape
Brazilian qualifications and UK admissions
UCAS and the UK application process
Matching students with universities beyond rankings
Building effective UK university lists
IB, A Levels
and APs
Personal statements and application strategy
Offers, results
and Clearing
Understanding entry requirements and selectivity
Foundation programmes and alternative pathways
Understanding different UK regions and university
Visas, employability and the student journey
Bringing universities and schools together
Good university counselling depends partly on good information — and some of the best information comes from meaningful relationships with universities themselves.
Through Maze Education and the UK Study Network, I create opportunities for school counsellors to meet and learn directly from UK universities.
This includes counsellor events, professional development sessions, university visits, webinars and opportunities for genuine dialogue between schools and institutions.
The objective isn't simply to create another university fair.
It's to create conversations that help counsellors understand universities well enough to know which of their students might thrive there.

Support for parents too
Schools can also work with Maze to provide specialist UK sessions for their wider community.
These can include student workshops, parent presentations, UK university information sessions and guidance around particular aspects of the application journey.
A significant decision deserves good information
International university counselling is becoming increasingly complex.
No counsellor can reasonably be expected to know every university, admissions system and qualification framework around the world in equal depth.
Maze Education can act as a specialist UK higher education resource alongside your existing counselling provision — providing training, insight and connections when your team needs them.
Would your counselling team benefit from greater UK HE support?
Let's talk.
